Abstract
The stray light in a commercial Czerny-Turner grating spectrometer has been investigated at wavelength readings between 1800 Å and 5000 Å. A simple method is described which eliminates that part of the stray light caused by multiple dispersions. This same method should also decrease stray light in other in-plane grating spectrometers with reflecting optics.
