Integral imaging system optical design with aberration consideration

Abstract

Integral imaging is a technique for displaying three-dimensional images using microlens arrays. This paper discusses the optical design of an integral imaging system with aberration consideration. All previously reported systems have been analyzed and designed with only paraxial optics relations. This paper describes simulation and optimization of an integral imaging system using geometrical optics methods and OSLO optical design software. The designed system contains three arrays of microlens with spherical surfaces.
