Abstract

Angular dispersion amplification can be used to design compact dispersive delay generators with delay amplification. A specific design is presented that can be used to generate 1ns delay for two wavelengths separated by 1nm. The delay generator can be easily switched from a positive to a negative group velocity delay and can be used as a pulse compressor, a pulse stretcher, or a pulse shaper in chirped pulse amplification, high-resolution time-gated spectroscopy as well as other applications.
