Intuitive diffraction model for multistaged optical systems

Abstract

A simplified framework is motivated in which many diffraction effects can be treated, especially in multistaged optical systems. The results should be especially helpful for short wavelengths and broadband sources, for which numerical calculations can be most difficult.
