Abstract
The paper considers some results of atmospheric optics investigations on Mt. Elbrus (in the Caucasus Mountains) carried out by the authors in 1960–1962. A short description of the automatic spectral apparatus for measuring global, scattered, and direct solar radiation in the visible and infrared spectral regions is given. The relation between the atmospheric water vapor content and the surface humidity is analyzed. Results of absolute measurements of solar radiation in the 3–13 μ spectral region are presented.
