Acousto-optic modulator with a (Ga0.4In0.6)2Se3 monocrystal as the active element

Abstract

Crystalo-optic and acousto-optic properties of monocrystalline (GaxIn1-x)2Se3, x = 0.3, 0.4 are described and analyzed. The acousto-optic modulator was constructed with a monocrystal (Ga0.4In0.6)2Se3 as the active element. The relevant acousto-optic parameters of such a modulator were determined and compared with characteristics of commercially available systems.
