The Caustic Curve of an Off-Axis Parabola

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

The caustic curve of an off-axis parabola was found by first finding the equation of the path of a reflected light ray and then finding the parametric equations of the envelope of the paths of the reflected rays. The caustic is a circular arc lying below the tilted axis of the reflecting mirror. The caustic is shown for a particular case, and the equation of the circle is given.
