Abstract
Relative irradiance as a function of the orientation of a flat object underwater has been calculated for clear-sunny and overcast lighting conditions from experimental radiance data. Tables give the relative irradiance on an object whose normal is oriented every 10° of tilt angle from the zenith and every 20° of azimuth. From theoretical considerations the computed irradiances should apply to other waters for which the ratio σ/α is the same as in the original experiment.
