Abstract
During the last two weeks of December 1989 the biggest balloon ever is scheduled to fly around the continent of Antarctica. The mission is to prove that it is possible and to seek out information on various types of radiation. Reprinted by permission from the National pages of the 18 Dec. 1989 issue of The New York Times.
