Abstract

Measurements of O2 and H2O absorption line parameters (cross section, linewidth, and line strength) in the 0.7-μm region are presented. In this paper, results for the O2A band near 760 nm are discussed. We pay particular attention to the pP27 line that is useful for temperature monitoring in the atmosphere. The measured absorption cross section and linewidth at NTP are 1.945 10−24 cm2 · mol−1 and 0.034 cm−1, respectively. We found the linewidth to be 20% lower than the generally adopted value.
