Coherence analysis of the Lau interferometer

Abstract

The Lau interferometer is a modified-coherence interferometer. A grating is used to introduce a coherence function which samples a phase object over a spatially limited region. A second grating overlaps mutually coherent points and creates a sheared image. Achromatic bias fringes may be introduced to aid interpretation.
