Abstract

Laboratory tests have been performed to investigate the quality of γ-ray images which may be obtained using the coded aperture mask technique. A number of potential sources of image defects are examined both theoretically and experimentally, and the methods in which these may be minimized or eliminated are studied. It is shown that good quality γ-ray images may be produced by efficient design and control of the imaging system.
