Abstract

Shown here are the various steps in the making of a 33-in. diam concave mirror, 20 in. inside radius, 21 in. outside radius, cut 11¼″ wide. The Pyrex blank was very well annealed. The optical figure changed little on cutting. Note that the machinery to handle such a task is large and heavy.
