Generation of the inside of a thin wall

Abstract

Care is required to generate the inside surface of a thin-walled dome. When the dome is held in an internal vacuum chuck and the atmospheric pressure pushes against the outside a distortion of the surface results. However, when an adjustable swiveling center support is used as described most of the distortion is eliminated.
