A Large-Stage Photoelectric Planimeter for Leaves

Abstract

A number of possible designs of photoelectric planimeters are examined with special attention to uniformity of response over the stage area. A design is developed in which four photocells are positioned to make their total response uniform over a large stage. The principle is illustrated by the construction of one such instrument.
