Abstract
The 60-in. (152-cm) Astrometric Reflector has been designed primarily for high precision celestial photographic work. The telescope is basically a Newtonian type with a paraboloidal primary and a flat secondary, but the optics are arranged like a Cassegrainian telescope with the focal plane behind the primary. The description covers the materials, the design and the support system of the optics, and the mounting, dome, and support system of the telescope. A brief description follows of the environment of the telescope, which is so essential for effective utilization of such an instrument.
