Buried diffraction gratings: a phenomenological theory

Abstract

The diffracted field amplitudes of a buried diffraction grating are solved as a function of the phenomenological diffraction efficiencies of the coated and polished diffraction grating and reflectance of the multilayer. A numerical example is given.
