Three-wavelength pyrometer for measuring flame temperatures

Not Accessible

Abstract

This paper describes a pyrometer that measures the continuum radiation from particles in a flame or explosion at three wavelengths (0.8 μm, 0.9 μm, and 1.0 μm). The particle temperature is calculated from the radiation data using the Planck equation. Temperatures measured for coal dust explosions in a closed vessel are presented.
