Abstract

Underexposed photographic negatives were toned with uranium around the turn of the century. Such radioactive photographs permit image transfer by autoradiography, and this confers several new options in photography. It is surprising that about half a century elapsed before the implications of such image transfer were described. The full possibilities of such transfer in processes of intensification, relief imaging, and photographic research are only now being realized.
