Estimating Optical Turbulence in the Atmosphere Utilizing the Inherent Vertical Scaling Characteristics of Temperature Fields

Abstract

We propose a novel framework for the estimation of Cn2 in the atmosphere. This framework only requires coarse-resolution temperature and pressure profiles as input. Observations from a field campaign over Hawaii are used for validation.
