Using quantum operators to describe orbital angular momentum of Hermite Gaussian modes

Abstract

Orbital angular momentum of Hermite Gaussian modes is determined using algebraic quantum operators. A vortex profile of the corresponding modes is clearly defined. Our approach is applicable in vacuum as well as in homogenous turbulence.
