Classification of beams with orbital angular momentum propagating through weak atmospheric turbulence

Abstract

A set of laser beams carrying orbital angular momentum was propagated in weak atmospheric turbulence. Coherent combining of four original beams produced sixteen distinct beams that were imaged and classified using basic machine learning methods.
