Laboratory synthesis of atmospheric anisotropic turbulence

Abstract

Renewed interest in the problem of propagation through anisotropic turbulence has emerged recently, yet most of these efforts are theoretical. We describe here how atmospheric anisotropy can be generated, and effectively controlled, at the laboratory.
