Abstract

Previous research on the decomposition of refractive atmospheric turbulence into Zernike polynomials [1-2] is extended to strong, non-Kolmogorov, and anisotropic turbulence using simulations and approximate analyses. The results are useful in image reconstruction and adaptive optics design.
