Abstract

We present a new aerosol retrieval methodology designed to be applied to the next generation Advanced Himawari-8 (AHI) and GOES-R geo-stationary imagers. The algorithm is integrated into the NOAA's Clouds from AVHRR Extended (CLAVR-x) framework providing the capability for near real-time aerosol retrievals over both dark target and littoral regions.
