Compact nanowires produced by the etching of custom designed phosphorus doped optical fibers

Abstract

Specialty optical fibers were designed to allow for the production of silica nanowires at the tipsof optical fibers. This production method is based on the selective etching of a P2O5 doped region introduced within a specialty fiber.
