Hollow-core photonic crystal fibres for effectively single-mode UV transmission

Abstract

Few-m lengths of kagomé-style hollow-core PCF are used to transmit 100’s of µW of 280 nm UV light in a single transverse mode. The loss is ~3 dB/m and the transmission is stable with time.
