Abstract
We report the realization and systems performance of an OADM based on a gratingassisted Mach-Zehnder imprinted on photosensitive-cladding fibre. This component provides low short wavelength losses, a high return loss in the input port, low chromatic dispersion and low PMD. We present a thorough characterization of the device and of its system performance in multi-wavelength transmissions at 10 Gb/s per channel, showing compatibility with 50GHz grid dense WDM systems. OADM modelling was carried on to highlight the gratings mismatch impact on component characteristics.
