Abstract

We have realized multimode optical waveguide films with low loss and high thermal stability by a simple fabrication process using UV cured epoxy resin, and also proposed useful and low-cost waveguide film devices for optical interconnection. These waveguide films are easy to connect to multi-fiber ribbons by using an MT guide pin and it is also easy to add various optical functions or realize routing flexibility with fibers. Furthermore, we found that the film devices had good reliability when stored at 75º C and 90% RH.
