THz induced keV Electron Emission from Metallic Nanotips

Abstract

Intense, single-cycle THz pulses have been employed to explore field emission from tungsten nano-tips. Electrons with several keV energies are observed. Comparison of the emissions from tips with various tip radius provides insight into the emission mechanism and local electron-field interactions.
