Light-switchable HTI-peptides: Ultrafast structural changes and coupling between the electronically excited chromophore and amide groups

Abstract

Hemithioindigo (HTI) is used as a structural trigger for attached peptides. Ultrafast, directly driven and slower, allosteric structural changes are induced by the HTI switch. Pronounced electronic interactions occur between the HTI and amino acids.
