Femtosecond Study of Photodoping Phenomena in a Parent Compound of a High-Temperature Superconductor

Abstract

We present the first spectrally-resolved study of the femtosecond dynamics in La2CuO4, the undoped parent-compound of the high-temperature superconductor. The data reveal strong band-gap renormalization and the appearance of in-gap states attributed to photo-doping.
