High-energy down-chirped few-cycle pulse generation in filaments

Abstract

We report the generation of clean 1.8 mJ, sub-10-fs pulses generated by self-guided beam propagation of intense 40-fs pulses in argon and demonstrate the low energy fluctuations of such a system running at 1 kHz.
