Detection of Ultrafast Infrared Electric Fields by Chirped-Pulse Upconversion

Abstract

Sum-frequency mixing between a chirped 800-nm pulse and a 100-fs infrared pulse allows determination of the IR spectral phase and amplitude using spectral interferometry. A dispersed vibrational echo signal is also measured by upconversion.
