Slow Fluorescence and Fast Intersystem Crossing -The Xanthone Anomaly

Not Accessible

Your library or personal account may give you access

Abstract

Intersystem crossing of xanthone in protic solvents proceeds within ~ 1 ps, whereas its fluorescence decays within 60-600 ps. This is due to a delayed fluorescence from a 3nπ* state energetically close to the 1ππ* state.
