Slowing down molecular dissociation in strong laser fields

Abstract

Doubly ionized carbon monoxide, CO2+, always appeared to dissociate in previous strong-field experiments and the metastble channel was scantly seen. In this paper, we demonstrate experimental conditions to obtain an abundance of metastable CO2+.
