Investigation on the parameters of dense electronic plasma induced by femtosecond laser in fused silica

Abstract

Electron plasma induced by femtosecond laser in fused silica was investigated by pump-probe time-resolved shadow and interferometric imaging. Electron collision time is obtained as 1.7 fs at density around 1019cm-3 and the plasma lifetime is 170fs.
