Terahertz emission induced by laser excited ferromagnetic films

Abstract

The laser induced ultrafast demagnetization of ferromagnetic films results in the emission of a terahertz electromagnetic pulse that has been detected using free-space electro-optic sampling. Measured E(t) is explained by Maxwell equations.
