High-energy protons emitted from a polymer-coated metal foil by 60-fs laser irradiation

Abstract

High-energy protons are generated by a 60-fs-laser irradiation on a polymer-coated thin metal foil. The intensity of protons from the polyvinylmethylether-coated target is enlarged about 80 times higher than that from the uncoated target.
