Femtosecond electron diffraction: Making the “molecular movie”

Abstract

We report on our observations of strongly-driven laser melting using femtosecond electron diffraction to capture the disordering of the solid and emergence of liquid structure. We propose a method to measure femtosecond electron pulse durations and zero of time.
