Ultrafast coherent response of hydrogen bonds

Abstract

Femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy in the mid-infrared demonstrates coherent motion of vibrational wave packets in an intramolecular hydrogen bond, giving evidence of anharmonic coupling between high and low frequency modes.
