Abstract

With time resolved two-photon techniques we determined the lifetime and two-photon spectrum of the forbidden S1 state of β-Carotene (9±0.2 ps), Lutein (15±0.5 ps) and the energy transferring carotenoids in LHC II (250±50 fs).
