Abstract

Excitation of KTa03 with ultrashort laser pulses drives phonon-pair combination states via impulsive second-order Raman-scattering. A model explains the resulting displacementamplitude covariance-oscillations of the two correlated phonon modes observed in a pump-probe experiment.
