Observation of coherent confined LO phonons in 70Ge/74Ge isotope superlattices

Abstract

Coherent higher-order confined LO phonons are observed for the first time by a pump- probe technique in 70Ge/74Ge isotope superlattices. The Fourier-transformed spectra are well explained by a linear chain model and a bond polarizability approach.
