Abstract

We demonstrate a method for generating multi-cycle terahertz electromagnetic waveforms by optically rectifying femtosecond pulses in periodically-poled lithium niobate. The bandwidth for the 1.80 THz peak is 0.07 THz. The THz waveform is largely determined by crystal domain structure.
