High Frequency Modulation and Optical Free Space Video Transmission using Quantum Cascade Lasers

Abstract

High frequency (~2 GHz) modulation of the mid-infrared emission from graded superlattice quantum cascade lasers is demonstrated and applied to a free space transmission of video / audio signals over distances of 70 meters.
