Optical Receiver Sensitivity Improvement by Impulsive Coding

Abstract

Impulsive operation of receivers is shown to result in better sensitivities compared to NRZ. We show that contrary to conventional wisdom the optimum detection bandwidth for impulsive coding is larger than for NRZ
