Abstract
Nonlinear optical properties in low dimensional materials, especially semiconductor quantum dots (SQDs), have attracted much attention due to their potential application in optoelectronic and phtotonic devices. Recently, the development of nano-fabrication has made it possible to combine metal nano-particles (MNPs) and SQDs into complexes. The study of the novel plasmon-exciton interaction in the MNPs-SQDs complexes has become one of the hot spots of experimental and theoretical interests [1]. Herein, the nonlinear properties in the Au nano-particles and CdTe quantum dots (QDs) systems have been studied by the Z-scan measurement. It is observed that the optical nonlinearity the CdTe-Au nanoparticle assemblies can be enhanced by choosing proper radii of Au nano-particles and CdTe QDs.
