A Serial Scheme for Minimum-Shift Keying Modulation

Abstract

We propose an optical serial MSK modulation scheme to simplify the MSK signal transmitter structure. A simpler scheme of delay and interference replaces the conventional scheme with parallel transmitter structure. The principle of generating the optical modified MSK signal by this serial scheme is presented. With the proposed serial structure, the investigation on BER over fiber link clearly demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
