Speckle Patterns as Structured Illumination in Diffuse Optical Imaging

Abstract

Speckle patterns projected on turbid media appear blurred due to optical diffusion. Images of projected and backscattered patterns are compared to obtain wide-band spatial frequency response, and hence the optical properties of the medium.
